Overview

Welcome to the School of Informatics
The School consists of two departments:
Information Sciences & Technologies (IST)
Networking, Security, and Systems Administration (NSSA)

You will find four undergraduate programs in the school reflecting some of the most vibrant and dynamic disciplines in the computing field. They are Information Technology (BS) and Medical Informatics (BS) in IST, and Applied Networking and System Administration (BS) and Information Security and Forensics (BS) in NSSA.

The school also is the home of four graduate programs:
Human Computer Interaction (IST)
Information Technology (IST)
Computer Security and Information Assurance (NSSA)
Networking and Systems Administration (NSSA)

These two departments were selected to populate the school because their curriculum is an educational environment which can quickly respond to emerging needs and trends in the private and public sectors. The purpose of the school is to provide this environment to ensure the students’ educational experience reflect these emerging needs and trends.

We are committed to our students' success. To accomplish this we focus on providing them with the skills needed to ensure they can successfully seek meaningful and rewarding careers in their chosen disciplines. We make every effort to ensure our curriculum and labs are current and reflect what is happening in business and industry. This is accomplished through the creation of Industrial Advisory Boards comprised of national business and industry leaders. They meet annually to review our curriculum and make recommendations for improvement. These recommendations are carefully considered and implemented if possible. I believe excellence of the programs in the school equal or exceed all similar programs you might find in other Institutions.
